Default Shooting @ Texas A&M

Another week, another mass shooting in the US. Time for me to move back to Canada.

Hopefully no casualties...well, maybe just the gunman.

This is already past the point of ridiculous. It's amazing how the States is so concerned about terrorism when it's own residents seem to have become a bigger threat.

According to one of the comments:
Quote:
Just got a text from a fellow student at A&M - Shooter was apprehended, two CSPD officers were shot. No students were harmed.

If these guys plan on killing themselves after killing many innocent people, they should just end their miserable life beforehand and spare those innocent people's lives.

^^^ Reports are that it wasn't on campus, but near campus. Big media outlets are spinning it as an on-campus shooting in their headlines. Misinformation or for dramatic effect yet to be determined (I'm learning to the latter, as per usual).

Or bad assumption. I work in an office across the street from Mount Royal University. We had an incident that forced an evacuation last December and the fire department itself listed on Citybeat that the incident was at MRU rather than near it.

Breaking news isn't exactly known for accuracy.

Cue the "Americans like guns" reset. Cue the #nosehill gentlemen reset. Cue the "why the 2nd amendment is flawed" reset. This is getting ridiculous.

Exactly, just read the chicago paper and in a gun free city there are shootings like this every day.

Yellow press, yellow press...

It's coming close to the election so all the crazies are out

and

gun control is the hot button issue right now for the lefty's and any time there is a shooting with "mass" amount of 2 people getting shot the spam media will blow it up to get their political agenda passed

^^^ Isnt the fact that its an issue at all kind of troubling? I know this didn't happen AT the school, but there have been cases that have. As a student, a born American and raised Canadian, I have not once got to school with any thought in my head of possibly being shot at. Ever. Is that the case for kids in the States? Seems like theres a school shooting every year now almost.

Thats a serious question not a jab.

I might take a bit of heat for this, but when I read only 2 were shot, I thought "thats it?" ... which is kind of sad.

When I used to live in San Jose, there was a time span of 7 months were there was a PSA that there was a armed gunman or someone was shot or there was gunfire I think 9 times in 3 months. I now work in Santa Clara area (within a stone's throw of SJ), and just was week we were locked in at work in the morning cause there was a armed felon that was loose in the area; in the end, a dog was shot and killed but thats it.

Gun fire and getting shot seems to be no big deal these days... I really shouldn't be thinking "thats it?" ...

Come on....

If that is the left's agenda (which it isn't), it has been a miserable failure.

Gun rights tend to get reinforced based on the increased number of background checks for gun purchase after these type of shootings.
