Stumbled onto this....

Wondering if anyone has used it?

Hello,

I bought a Fit Bit for my girlfriend and she loves it. It works as advertised and the web application you use to track your progress is apparently pretty slick. Stays charged for quite a while (one charge lasted more than a full three-day weekend that involved a lot of walking and dancing).

Only complaints I've heard were that the calorie-tracking feature on the web app isn't as complete as some other services out there (wish I could name one for you as an example but I can't off the top of my head!) and also I think you can only sync the Fit Bit to one computer at a time (so you'd have to uninstall and reinstall if you want to change the location from where you always sync your data).

Don't know if that last point is true or not, haven't played with it myself.

It seems to me like it's probably the best product of its kind.

Why do you sound like an advertisement for fitbit?

Yeah, I logged into their website and that portion certainly isn't as robust as Calorie Counter, which I use now. You can add foods, so can customize it to your common foods.

Hmm, that doesn't sound right. Seems to me it syncs to your online profile, which you can access anywhere.

Others seem bulky. I have a watch type right now, but it doesn't measure stairs or sleep patterns.

Has your GF tried the sleep feature?

If it were his first post it might look that way.

Not implying that he is. Just the way he wrote the review for the product lol. When he wrote "hello" automatically I thought of a sea of infomercials that start that way.

Hey, didn't mean to come off as a spokesman for the product. I write a lot of formal e-mails to clients so I guess that style of writing has become a bit of a reflex.

Thanks for the feedback re: the calorie counter and the syncing. You're probably right about the syncing; it seemed weird to me that you would be limited to the PC you installed the software on, because it's not like the software is useful to anyone who doesn't have a fit bit.

She didn't seem blown away by the sleep feature, but to be honest that is the one feature that I think makes it cooler than the nike or jawbone devices.

My two cents
