Great laptop, I have the previous gen y470p and am very satisfied. that 580 has some great components at that cost

Why is the screen 1366*768? That's a bit odd considering most gaming laptops are 1080p. Is it because it's meant for 3D? (lower resolution = higher framerates).

Wouldn't think it matters too much, as a laptop of those specs is more of a desktop replacement type than a standalone.

Thanks for the bumps/questions.

The 660m can power games on a 1080p screen but I bought it for gaming and like really high frame rates in games. I was worried that 1080p + max settings + AA might cause frame rate dips. Running 768p means the fps almost never go below 60 - even the latest games.

Mine is no longer available. There is a 1080p BR version available for $899 right now if you check RFD.
