Default GAME 3: STAMPEDERS at Montreal

This game was supposed to be the game of backup QBs until Calvillo decided he is healthy enough to start the game. As we all know Kevin Glenn will start for Stampeders due to Drew Tate's injury (4-6 weeks). Last game between these two teams, Stamps embarrassed the Als so I can see Als not taking Stamps lightly on this game.

OFFENSE:
R Nik Lewis has been the most consistent Stamps so far this early season and hoping the rest will follow. Romby Bryant and Forzani hasn't been called upon much this season. Anthony Parker was a healthy scratch the last two games and that really puzzles me. Arjei Franklin has been on his spot so far. Looks like Jabari Arthur will play ahead of another non-import Chris Baumann on this game. As for RB Jon Cornish, he didn't have a good game against Toronto last week. Seems like everytime he touches the ball, the Argos gang-tackled him. QB Kevin Glenn will start the next few games because of Drew Tate's injury while Bo Levi Mitchell is going his backup and Brad Sinopli is back as a 3rd stringer.
Last week the Offensive Line was brutal. They couldn't block anyone hence changes will be made with Nashan Godard back and Edwin Harrison will be sitting out. I wonder if Harrison was still hurting and came back too early.

DEFENSE:
Front Four was not too good, Linebacker was so-so and DB got burned a few times. Overall defense was awful but they did made some good plays in some important plays. DL Pettway got signed before the season because they thought he would compliment Hughes on the other side as a pass rusher. Not sure he sat out last week. Could it be the ratio thing with import Coker back as Cornish backup.

SPECIAL TEAM:
Larry Taylor was the reason why the Stampeder almost beat the Argos. He was awesome in a few returns, 1 ran for TD and the other almost went all the way. Blocking was good, punting and kicking was also good. Need some more work on special team coverage though. Although they almost shut down Chad Owens.

In order for the Stamps to beat the Als. Kevin Glenn has to play like a starter and not force the ball. OLine needs to give Cornish or Coker lots of time and space. Defense needs to play tighter.

GO STAMPS GO!!!!

Game starts at 5:30pm MDT and will be televised on TSN.

OFFENSE:

Jon Gott will start as Centre ahead of DeWitt who struggled so far this season especially on shotgun formations.

Na'Shan Godard will be starting as Left Guard and Stanley Bryant moving to the right. Edwin Harrison will sit out against the Als.

Non-import R Jabari Arthur will start in his first game this season. Chris Baumann will sit out. Still haven't seen Anthony Parker in the lineup yet going to Game 3.

DEFENSE:

Chris Randle will start on weak-side LB replacing Demetrius Morley who is injured and will sit out in this game. DB Jamar Wall will replace Morley on the lineup.

DL Kenny Pettway will be back in the lineup after sitting out last game against the Argos.

SPECIAL TEAM:

Long snapper Randy Chevrier will sit out again.

Montreal gave up a safety so Calgary 2-0 with over 7 minutes left in the first quarter. Not much going offensively on both side.

Freaking Eric Fraser had a brain fart not touching the receiver. Montreal scored a TD.

Play is under review.

Regardless if Fraser touched Bratton or not, Fraser should be sitting. Just need to pat the guy on the head to make sure he is down.

McDougall should go in. At least the kid is aggressive. I agree Fraser should at least sit for a few plays and make him think.

There is nothing that Fraser has done that makes me think he is that much better than MacDougall anyways.

Kevin Glenn.... Hasn't missed a beat since we cut him. Cannot win with that bum. Stamps look like a completely different team with that turd at the helm.

Terrible offense so far. Glenn sucks and OLine and receivers are not helping. Come on Glenn, remember that most consistent receiver NIK LEWIS?? He is playing so why don't you freaking throw the ball at him? If by halftime our offense still hasn't produce, it is time to try the kid Bo Levi Mitchell.

Having seen him try and Qb for a while this is what Glenn offers:

1) buckles under pressure
2) has no leadership qualities whatsoever
3) rushes his passes missing people completely
4) will make his receivers hate him
5) when the games on the line he wilts like a flower

Who's your 3rd stringer?

I would give Glenn one more sequence, if he can't pick up a few first downs at least, that's it.
