CFL 2011/12 Offseason thread
Thought Id start this for any changes/news in the offseason.
Esks looking to trade Ricky Ray for Steven Jyles?
I hope so...that would set the Eskies back a few years.

Sources tell TSN that the Eskimos have been fielding inquiries about Ray during the past week and discussions have taken place about a potential trade with the Toronto Argonauts.
It is believed that current Argo quarterback Steven Jyles could be going the other way as part of a package that would see Toronto the 32-year-old Ray, a two-time Grey Cup winner who has thrown for at least 4,500 yards six times in his career.

That would make zero sense for the Eskimos. Ray still has plenty of good years ahead of him.

Return is rumoured to be K Grant Shaw, QB Steven Jyles and a 1st round pick.
That ends the Burris to TO speculation.

The Esks do well to get rid of Ray. But getting Jyles back doesn't improve the situation.

Didn't see this coming. Seems like an odd return to the Esks - Tillman must have something up his sleeve cuase you don't go into next season with Jyles and Joseph right?

According to a tweet by Naylor, its not QB related.
He also speculates that it could be a new deal for Cornish.

Thats a load of crap. I'm sorry, CFL is just bush league. First the Jones to TO with no penalty ($5000 is nothing).
Now Ray to Toronto...Owner who owns two teams and has the leagues 100th Grey Cup. This just smells like load of crap. They're basically doing everything they can to make it a big event and actually have Argos in there.
