This is my new 24. I missed the first 3 seasons of 24 and caught up via DVD. Now addicted.

I've missed all but a couple LOST episodes and so have stopped watching. Will catch up on DVD and then start watching religiously next fall. Great show from what I've seen.

Plus, I'm a big Terry O'Quinn fan. Love that guy.

Very cool eppy tonight.

Spoiler Alerts

I liked the multiple flash backs...a nice twist to the show's "Standard format". The Black Rock was cool. As was the smoke. And the launching of the boat. So much cool stuff. Damn this show is so good.

good development episode for next week.

Learn a bit but not to much. thats the way the show goes LOL.

Learn a bit more about the monster(of course not to much).

how did the Black Rock get there. That should be interesting.

Lots of little wrap up segments as well.
Still decent show..

lots more Flashbacks to help define the characters. and they found a way to have boone back. if only for one more show LOL

The episode last night was pretty impressive, and finally they are starting to close some loose plot lines (Who hit Sahid, who burnt the boat etc) When that black smoke first started to appear I got chills, good moment. Can't wait for the season finale next week.

By the way, for some reason I thought it was more then just the 4 of them going on the boat... always thought it was atleast 10 people, seemed to be alot working on it when they showed it from time to time.

Next weeks 2 hour episode should be great.

I thought it was funny how they showed 10 or 15 'extras' in the background that they had never shown before. I wonder if they will start introducing some of those people or if they will eternally be the silent background people.

I'm still wondering what the hell happened to that black woman who lost her husband in the first couple of episodes. She was sitting out there on the rocks all alone, Jack brings her water.. and she is gone.

Yeah. Good point. I thought when the fat cranky guy decided to go with the team to the Black Rock that he was going to be meat at the dish ala the generic members of the Star Trek away team.

I suspect most of the characters will be simply background filler. But Abrams likes to change up his show and if they knock off anymore central characters one of the backgrounders could step up I suppose.

That's interesting about the black woman. I think I saw her in the background last night. She made the comment that her husband is still alive which kind of foreshadows that there could be a whole other group from the back of the plane on another island or another part of the island. Who knows, they could totally flip next season around and feature this other group.

I think it was a great episode, can't wait till next week's.
What was intresting to me was showing Michelle Rodriguez in a RANDOM cameo. As the chick Jack meets in the bar, who is sitting at the BACK of the plane. If I recall correctly is that not also where the black lady's husband was when the plane went down?
Anyhoo I wonder if we will see black lady's husband and/or Rodriguez's charater as part of the 'others'.
What a great show..........

Is anyone's channel 5 screwed up? I've got full (non-digital) cable, and every single channel seems to be working fine, except 5 and 4. The distortions started right about when the show started.

Ideas? Same thing?

Yeah, I'm getting periodic fuzziness on 5 as well. Thought it was just a bad cable connection.

Well that was pretty f'n cool. I know not all the questions are answered but that's what I like about this show. TV too often has to tie thing up in a nice little package. This show keeps you guessing. Answer some questions bu brings up new ones. Loved it!

Now how many of you think that the creepy crew on that boat were "The others" who were after "the boy"?

Just my weird theory, and I think that we all know that the hidden beast is mechanical by the sounds that it makes and is strickly underground.

Interesting episode that left very little answers.

WHO THE HELL WERE THE CREEPY CREW ON THE BOAT?!
No one's just on a boat in the middle of nowhere......
Very good show, so many unanswered questions. Hurley's such a character, that guy's luck makes me laugh.

That gun powder scene was a little hectic I must say....but the dynamyte scene....don't ask why, just made me laugh.

I'm not sure if it was just my imagination, but I swear I saw flies buzzing around the people on the boat. Felt very Pirates of the Carribean to me (or pirates of the Black Rock if you like.)

I saw the same thing, and thought the same thing as well.

I wonder what happens to Sawyer?

Did Sawyer get shot, or did Sawyer shoot the other guy? That part confused me. And Jin dove in after Sawyer to get him?

Looks very much like Sawyer was shot in the shoulder.

Crew could definitely be the 'others'. Monster clearly sounds mechanical, though, when we got a 'peek' at it, it seemd to be a black cloud or something.
