David Stern asks Jim Rome if he beats his wife...

So first of all, I'm an idiot for thinking this exchange was between Rome and Gary Bettman...Sorry about that Only caught the tail end of it when Rome was referring to Stern as "Mr Commissioner"

Now it makes sense why he referenced Steven A Smith at the end...

For those interested, here's the link to the STERN- Rome tiff, courtesy of united and IntenseFan...

Stern is going to get shredded for his comments.

Pretty sure that was NBA commissioner David Stern, only caught the tail end myself but Rome asked him if the draft lottery was fixed.

Stern got mad because Rome asked him if the NBA lottery was 'fixed' because New Oreleans won it and the league owns the team. Rome said he represents the people and has to ask because many people think that, and Stern was pissed.

			Well done, Rome.
At least somebody in the media had the balls to ask what everybody was thinking.

Stern asked Rome if he still beats his wife! What insanity! Imagine Bettman asking Cherry is he still beats his wife?

The funniest part was Stern calling Steven A Smith a real reporter.

That's a fair question. He just has to say no. And honestly, if those the NBA PR group was following Rome's show the past few days, you wouldn't go near it with a 10 foot pole because the theme has basically been how things could be fixed:- The Smackoff
 - The boxing match

If you had anything in your industry that could be fixed, he's probably going to ask about it, and then he's going to tie it back to how his Smackoff wasn't fixed...

Should probably change the title and move to the other sports forum.
That said, this sounds awesome. If anyone comes across a link to the audio, please post.

I mentioned in the NBA thread that I thought Stern was petty and classless for a professional sports comissioner. What Rome was asking him wasn't even that big a deal considering a large population of sports fans think the NBA is fixed. Makes me wonder he would have said to Ron MacLean if he was in Bettman's shoes enduring some truly terrible questioning.
