Recommend a good tailor?
Have a wedding next weekend and I just bought myself a new suit that needs some alterations. Can anyone recommend a good tailor in town that works relatively quickly? It's kind of my first "nice" suit, so I dont want to take it to some crappy Moore's type of place.

Where did you buy the suit?
I have always found that the work done on my stuff by moore's or tip top to be fine.

O'Connors. 15th ave and 1st street sw. One of the best tailors in the city.
I have a couple of Zegna suits and needed the cuff extended. Was told by many, including people at Harry Rosens where it was bought, that the tailor there is one of the best. Not sure if you will get it done by next weekend though.

There's a small place in the +15 section of Energy Plaza.
Only taken pants there, but always had a one day turnaround, which is pretty impressive...places I've gone to otherwise has been 4-5 days or longer.
Most of the time its been a pant hem, last time it was that plus an alteration to the waist.

Thanks guy's, appreciate it. Most of the time, I'd be totally fine with a Moore's or something, but this since I'm hoping this thing takes me through a decade of weddings and whatnot, I want to make sure it's done to as nicely as possible.

Just an aside...whatever tailor you take it to, there should be no 'cupping' while you are being measured.

I bought a couple nice suits from Moores well over 5 years ago. I don't wear them on a regular basis, but they still look very nice...and the tailoring and stitching (alterations) on them are just fine.
You can pay more, somewhere else, but I'm pretty sure stitching and alterations are going to be the same no matter where you go. If you're so paranoid, then check before you leave with the finished alteration.

FYI, looks like O'Connors is no longer taking outside alterations....just stuff you buy from them. Said they were getting too busy.

Go down to Chinatown and find one. The Chinese always make the best tailors..
