there was a discussion about this a while back - the consensus seemed to be for another brand if you have groin issues.
i can't recall the recommended brand - i think they were sold at source for sports on mcleod

I have been using the CoreShorts Pro, and I do recommend them for Hamstrings - I'm really tight back there, so the Pros really have helped in keeping my legs looser (relatively speaking to before using them) on my runs.

They're worth it for me for playing soccer. I don't have any issues with hamstrings/quads/groin but I find I'm not really all that sore after a long game so placebo effect or not, they seem to help me.
Also on long runs, they're worth it just for the fact you'll never have to worry about chafing as your boys aren't moving anywhere.

I think we all know the pun's intended.

These things are magical. I have a really bad back from time to time and when I put these on my back issue is minimized. I have not done a ton of activity in them though. Played a couple rounds of golf in them...that's about it. But just for use when I have my bad back they are worth it.
Also, my pair was covered under my employment health coverage (Bluecross). If you are covered then buy them from a physiotherapist office and have them provide a letter for submission with your claim.

i wear the 'coreshorts pro' every time i play hockey and i love them
i've pulled my groin & hipflexor a few times while making 'kipper-esk' saves (ha!) and these things help a ton!!!
i was really skeptical about them but once i tried them i was sold 100%
don't cheap out on the less expensive ones - you get what you pay for!

I started a thread about groin pain a awhile back and someone here suggested them. I used them for hockey and I felt like a new man.

Just an intramural squad right now... I had reconstructive knee surgery a year and a half ago and I'm still a little chicken #### to get back into full league play.

For those wondering, the compression shorts work like athletic tape would and give a sense of proprioception. At least that's the theory.

Not that I have much to add, but if you are feeling groin pain, better to not do anything for a while and rest it. For months...

Get the pro core shorts with the red on them. I use them in hockey and doing Crossfit. Haven't reinjured my groin in 2 years.

Worth every penny. Have two pairs, use them primarily for hockey but basically any sport where I'm running. Bought mine before Under Armor bought the company but I would imagine it's just a re-branding thing

For running I want minimal compression/restriction and let the body move naturally so for any kind of distance running I don't see the point of these or compression socks for that matter. Warm up and post run maybe? The running shorts from places like the running room are good for holding things down but not too much compression from a running stand point.

Go to a physiotherapist, and they can prescribe them for you.
I have mine prescribed (I use the UnderArmor CoreShorts Pro), and they will take them back no questions asked if they rip/etc, and just exchange over the counter.
i will swear by mine. I have lower back and shoulder issues, and they take alot of pressure and restriction that my lats have been compensating for off of my shoulders and back.
