Married couples sleeping in seperate beds and sometimes seperate rooms
The CBC did a report on couples having trouble sleeping together and not getting a good nights sleep. A new study says we sleep better when we sleep alone and in some cases can save a marriage.
http://www.cbc.ca/player/News/ID/239...ort=MostRecent
What are the experiences of the members of CP and are there any that sleep alone.

My wife and I quite happily share a bed. I work shift work though, and do think that I sleep better when I am alone. I tend to be an active sleeper, and I prefer the room a lot cooler than she does. However, I sleep well enough when we sleep side by side that it's never been an issue/question.

Honestly when I'm married after the honeymoon period I'd wanna sleep alone especially if we had kids and she had to get up frequently in the middle of the night.

Yeah, it would be solely her responsibility to get up with a child.

If you breast feed then the man should take pills to help with such burden!

Well that didn't take long. Maybe Psychnet or whatever his/her name is right.
But it is puckluck. Not an average rep of men.

I'll give Puckluck the benefit of the doubt here, and suggest that he was just trying too hard to emulate a humorous Fotze-ish misogynistic comment.

When my wife is away or I am away I sleep horrible. I sleep so much better when my wife is in bed. in fact she has wanted a King, but I refuse and we have a Queen. A King makes me feel like I am sleeping alone.

I'm the same. Wife and I both travel a lot for work. We both sleep way better when the other one is there. The only exception is if one of us is really sick, then we'll move to the couch as to not both the other one.

I feel the same way when I'm not sleeping with your wife.
All kidding aside. I am the exact same way. We upgraded to a king size bed. We didn't like it and later switched back to a queen size bed.

Since the only thing that a guy can do when his baby gets up is to have the kid latch on and start feeding...
That said, if my wife was off on mat leave, she got up and just let me sleep more often than not. Since the midnight feedings are a thing of the past now, I am most often the one to get up and deal with night time issues.

I always got up, went to get the little animal, and changed the diaper. Early on there is so little that a dad can do, it is nice to be involved. I also dealt with the "non-sleeping" phase. For the daughter it was not fun, the boy didn't have those issues.
I honestly can't understand dad's that don't take an active role. The whole "my wife will do it" attitude is stupid, and short sighted.

While not married myself, I think the real key isn't seperate beds, it's seperate blankets.
Space isn't the issue for me, it's typically the ages old battle over the blanket.
Everyone get's their own blanket, and everyone is happy.
Boom! I just saved all your marriages.

Yeah this is true for me and my wife. Same bed - separate blankets. I sleep with a way lighter blanket than she does, so it works well.
That being said if people need separate beds to get consistent sleep I think that's Ok.

I agree with the separate blankets thing, that's much better for everyone involved.
