Personally I'm a fan of Park 2 Go, I used them last summer for a week and for the price of a cab ride (about $50/week) it's well worth it.
Book in advance, drop off your car/keys, hop onto a shuttle bus that leaves every 5 minutes (they don't wait till their full, they just go) to the airport. They give you a tag with a pin number on it, you text/call in the pin when you land back in Calgary, hop onto the shuttle again, pay on the shuttle via credit card, arrive back at the lot to find your car running with your receipt on the dash.
Like I said, for the price of cab ride I find the service is well worth it, I've only used them once but the online reviews suggest that's the regular experience.

Park in the Economy lot.

It's $40 per week, and no waiting around for shuttles or having some random person gun your car's engine after it has has .06 seconds to warm up. It took me 7 minutes to walk to my car after my last trip; I timed it.

I still prefer having my vehicle tucked away at home and making a friend drive me so I can tell him how excited I am to be going away....
Have these rates dropped significantly? I always thought parking at the airport was a huge expense.

This is exactly what I do. Then I'm always willing to return the favour.
If it is super early in the morning or something, I'll generally take a cab. I'd rather not worry about my car being broken into while on vacation.

I have used 3 of them.
Park n Jet - Least favorite as the buses that make the rounds to collect people are not all that fast or efficient. Sometimes they can also be "too kind" in waiting for morons to collect all their junk and lock their car (seriously...how can this take more than 30 seconds). Used this most often with work as they had aeroplan (work paid so why not get something back)
Park 2 Go - U of C Alumni discount. Shuttles were faster and the car waiting for you is kind of nice if you can handle what was stated above about some guy in the car gunning it.
Economy - Quick walk and cheap. You may even get the comedy gold of really cheap people using carts to get the weight to trigger the sensors to get a new ticket so they don't have to pay (I have seen this twice).
If the weather is ok the economy lot is pretty awesome and faster than the other shuttle services for sure.

If you live in Calgary and are going for two weeks, a cab ride will likely be cheaper (depending on where you live).
Most week-long (or multi-week) trips will leave in the morning and return a week later at night. This means that your parking charge is going to be for a week and one day, or two weeks and one day in your case. Even in the discount lot, that will be $90 plus tax ($40/week x 2 weeks + $10/day). You can get to a lot of the city for less than a $45 cab ride.
If you don't live in Calgary, I'd look into some of the airport hotels. I know that in some cities, hotels will offer a "flyer's" rate where if you stay in the hotel before and/or after your flight, they'll let you park your car in their lot during your trip. Of course, that would only make sense if you were going to stay in a hotel before and/or after your flight anyway.

That's funny. My friend and I joked about doing that, but figured there would be cameras in place.

I think with all the Barlow construction right now and how so much stuff was torn down in preparation that there are a bunch of temporary economy lots around from the last time I was at the airport. I think I saw a sign saying $35/week or something.

I'm doing the same thing but 5 days sooner. Thanks for this thread.
Using http://calgary.taxime.ca/ my taxi is $49.53 one way. I might just want to drive and pay $79.90 at the discount lot plus gas. My car will be outside either way.

I do this all the time for long trips. 120-140 bucks for a one night stay (used to be cheaper before the barlow closure) at the Best Western or Acclaim. Basically that is the cost of parking right there, plus if you leave early in the am it gives you some extra sleep time in the morning or avoiding bad roads.

Economy lot is your best bet as others have said. $40/week. Or if you have friends, get one of them to drive you!

***$39.95 weekly rate is valid for Economy lot. Weekly is defined as maximum charge for up to a seven-day stay. The daily rate of $9.95 is applied until weekly rate of $39.95 reached. Additional days are once again calculated at $9.95/day until the consecutive weekly rate takes effect again.
If you're not a full 2 weeks, you're going to get dinged possibly $60-$70 for the second week.

No, you are reading it wrong. The second week will be between $10-40. We flew out on a Tuesday morning, flew back the following Tuesday night. We paid $50 for the 8 day stay.

Oops, you're right. I misread it. However your scenario wouldn't have changed either way. Only once you pass the 4th day of the second week do you cap out the rate.
