Default Round Two: Montreal vs. Philadelphia

Regular Season:

Day 65: Montreal 3 Philadelphia 1: Ville Leino and Josh Harding lead the way.

Day 76: Montreal 4 Philadelphia 1: Pekka Rinne stops 43 of 44.

Day 128: Montreal 3 Philadelphia 1: Pekka Rinne stops 41 of 42.

It's too bad mastery in the regular season doesn't count for anything in the playoffs. Still...it's a good sign. All three of Philadelphia's goals came on the powerplay, so we'll need to play a disciplined series.

First Round:

(6)Montreal defeated (3)Washington 4 - 2

Team Leaders:
Pekka Rinne: 4-1-1, 1.96 GAA, 0.944 SV%, First star in the last three games.
Matt Moulson: 2 Goals, 5 Assists, 7 Points, +4
Patrick Marleau: 1 Goal, 6 Assists, 7 Points, +4
Ryan Whitney: 1 Goal, 2 Assists, +3

(5)Philadelphia defeated (4)Pittsburgh 4-0

Team Leaders:
Martin Brodeur: 4-0, 1.74 GAA, 0.936 SV%
Patrick Elias: 5 Goals, 2 Assists, 7 Points, +3
Dany Heatley: 1 Goal, 4 Assists, 5 Points, +3
Lubomir Visnovsky, 1 Goal, 3 Assists, 4 Points, +1

IR:
Mtl: Drew Stafford - out for the series
Phi: None

Should be a good one.

I think this series is where Montreal's run comes to an end.
Brodeur will shut the door and he is the big difference this time around.

3 out of 4 underdogs won their series in the East in Round 1. We plan to continue that trend.

I know Philly had 3 more points than you in the regular season but you actually had more wins, dominated them in the regular season series and are the defending Stanley Cup champs. I am not sure you can use the underdog card...

This should be an excellent series, one that I am interested in watching closely. Unlike my series where I expect to roll over the Preds like I did in the regular season...SWEEP!

It was worth a try. All I meant was the lower seeds.

I think this is the best match-up in round 2 hands down. I feel bad for the Jackets fans who will only get to watch 2 games at home and will have to watch us win the series in game 4 in Nashville.

Washington was OK and you took them out in 6 but Pitts is really good and the Flyers dismantled them. I wouldn't want to play the Flyers so GO HABS GO!

Stop the hype. Flyers are just happy to be still playing.

You were the best team in the CPHL heading into the playoffs, #1 in the CPHL "Power Rankings" and have a solid lineup from top to bottom.

Have some confidence in your team and build on your success! The Habs and the Flyers are both excellent teams, the best coaching/GM'ing will win this series IMO.
