Default UFA signings - question

I just went through my first UFA signing (yay me!) and was wondering if it would be possible to get an email notification when the signing was processed. Or, perhaps a weekly summary of any UFA signings across the league?

I just noticed today that I had the player on my roster, but I'm not sure how long he's been there for.

Thanks!

Hmmm well the easiest thing to do is what you did - just keep an eye on your roster page. Jeff processes free agents at least once a week and will advise a GM if for some reason they don't get the UFA.

The processing of UFAs is a surprisingly time consuming process for the league (particularly with CG signing a dozen every week) so I don't really want to add to that workflow unless there is a pressing need.

That's fair! I'm sure I'd have noticed sooner if I hadn't been on the tail end of 0 games in 4 nights.

Yeah you'll also see the players show up in the sim file too - as part of the big club.

On a somewhat related note, what do people think of a sticky thread for UFA signings? This would allow people to post in it when they make a signing (before it’s processed). In the event that signings are not processed for a week or so (which is understandable) it would let other GMs know who has offers in already. This would probably reduce the number of duplicate offers that the league has to deal while also keeping the GMs informed to what is currently a closed process.

The signings thread wouldn’t be the official signing mechanism which would remain as email, but perhaps the common place for all signings?

Just a thought as I know I have submitted a couple signing requests for players who at the time are not signed only to find out someone else put a request in for them first. It’s frustrating for me, and I'm sure annoying for the league.

Yeah sure we can do that- just keep in mind it would still be first email in gets the player regardless of whether or not the GM remembers to post in the UFA thread.

Hey, that's unfair, I've only signed about a dozen in the past month.

Thank you Jeff for all your additional work on my behalf.
