LA Kings sign Mark Zengerle to an AHL contract
Due to a recent string of injuries and a glut of AHL goalies, the Kings were forced to find an unsigned forward for their AHL roster.
The Kings have signed Zengerle (22, undrafted) a centre out of the University of Wisconsin. In two seasons with the Badgers, Zengerle has 86 points in 76 games.
I'm very slightly optimistic that Zengerle has a shot at making the AHL, but I know it's a long shot. He's been getting a little bit of buzz lately and I'm hoping that he gets invited to another NHL camp this off season (he went to the Leafs camp last off season).
A reasonable first UFA signing for me I think. Worst case scenario, I'm out a very tiny bit of cap space.
