i saw it in another thread and said it there too ... this guy is an idiot. even if he his kid is an out of control teenager, talk about over reaction.
i have seen this video posted on facebook too, i dont see what there is to applaud this guy over.

If the kid shows up at school with a self-inflicted black eye after that video, I'm pretty sure dad is going to jail, or she gets a new set of foster parents. Win win for her either way.

Doing their job? He could have accomplished this by taking away her computer, shooting it in the backyard in front of his daughter, message sent loud and clear.
Humiliating her to the tune of so far 12.5 million viewers, putting her up for some rough weeks of school and teasing for months to come.
Not a good parenting decision, kids kill themselves over much less.
The daughter is a spoiled little ms, but the fathers reaction is EPICLY bad.

I find it funny how he doesn't mention anything about the girls complaints about making him coffee and cleaning up after HIS mess. Sounds like laziness runs in the family and he expects the women of the house to clean his mess and make him coffee. Eff off old man there is a reason your daughter is lazy and disobedient. And it's because your lazy ass raised her.

i didnt make fun of the way he talks.... i critisized his decision to not only broadcast this video but also could take point with some of the points in his message.
overall, terrible parenting.
as others have said, it may have been completly appropriate to take her laptop (shoot it for emphasis even) but his approach was pretty immature and counter productive from my point of view.

Over reaction, probably. But there is nothing worse than an unappreciative child.
From listening to the guy (I didn't skip the first 7 minutes) the daughter had been grounded for posting her personal gripes about her family on facebook before. The Dad repeatedly said he had just spent the day upgrading her laptop and she then went and used it to rip on him and her Mother.
I would not haven taken that well either...

There is no reason to walk on egg shells around your kids because they might react to discipline by killing themselves.
