Router Serial Number?

Hey guys,

I am trying to sell an old wireless router and some guy on kijiji has asked for the serial number. Why would he need that? Legit request?

He can use the S/N to call the ISP to make sure the router is purchased and not rented.

If it's even an ISP supplied router. If it isn't, serial number has no use to the buyer.

On Apple Routers it can be used to confirm model/warranty.
