Kids dirt bikes and insurance/registration

Do you need insurance and a plate for a 50/80cc kids dirt bike? They'd use them on crown land (fields) while camping in the bush. Will not ride on roads/gravel roads.

If so, how much should one expect to pay for such insurance?

IIRC, anything under 100cc doesn't need anything.

I don't know the laws 100%, but we've never been hassled for letting the kids ride smaller bikes or quads around the campsite. Had them stop and check the big bikes for paperwork a few times while the little ones were running on the 50's, didn't even look at them.

Yes you need registration and insurance. PL/PD only. Nordic Insurance Insures bikes contact a broker they can help you out. Also make sure you have some sort of headlamp and tail light. Canadian tire sells pedal bike light sets for about 30 bucks you can bolt the front one on the handlebars and zip tie the rear to a chest protector or onto the bike. Ride safe have fun and stay on marked trails!
