Flames and Pens deal

Pens GM Goffie and Flames GM Cheese dialed each other up today and over an afternoon of coffee and meetings hammered out a significant deal.

To Pittsburgh

- Pahlsson, Samuel (C) NHL
- Gagner, Sam (C) NHL
- Kuehnhackl, Tom (RW) ECHL
- 2013 1st Round Draft Choice (buf)


To Calgary

- Doan, Shane (LW) NHL
- Havlat, Martin (RW) NHL
- Smithson, Jerred (RW) NHL

The Flames got a lot deeper for a playoff run and the Pens got a good defensive forward and a great young forward along with my 2013 1st rounder.
Im hoping that this trade does not affect my recent run of good luck and hope that both Doan and Havlat come in and help push us higher in the standings.

I am hoping that this deal shakes things up and gets this team back on track. Losers of 6/7 heading into a very tough stretch we need to derail this slump before it costs us our playoff spot. Gagner was the key cog for us but it is always nice adding 1sts. I am hoping Pahlsson and Moen can ignite their shutdown chemistry they had during the Ducks cup run.
