The Nashville Predators have parted ways with Craig Ramsay after failing to meet expectations after the Christmas break. "We talked things over and it just became apparent that something needed to be done. We're looking ahead at what will probably be a young team next year and given the enormous success that Dale Hunter has had in the junior ranks we think that he will be a positive impact here."
Dale Hunter and his infamous suit are expected to be behind the bench today against the Florida Panthers. "I think that this team will have some promise in the coming years. I signed here for the remainder of this year and next season and we'll see what we can do. Obviously if we win the Stanley Cup in both seasons I'll consider that a success!"
The change is sudden. Ramsay was working with a roster that no one really expected to be near the playoffs and had the team in the top half of the West at Christmas. Clearly this change was made partly due to the woes of the team over the past few weeks, but also with an eye to the future.
Poor old Ramsey. He turned chicken shat into chicken salad and this is his reward.
Ya, I feel as bad as you can for your sim coach I suppose. I'm not too sure what difference a coach makes, but hopefully Hunter is amazing and this looks brilliant down the road.
Ramsay was a miracle worker and he gets canned by the GM. IMO the GM should get canned instead.

I think it's amusing how one signing of a head coach has been such an event in the CPHL!
Seriously though, I had to go to someone other than Ramsay. Hunter was the best coach available in my opinion, and if I waited for the off-season I'd be caught in a bidding war. Seemed like a pretty simple choice. Oh, and he's 2-0 since taking over.
