why is it I always miss the good ones? Complete game 2 hitter, 10 strikeouts. Too bad the rest of the staff stink. Wells hit a homer and was 3 for 4 in a better outing than he's seen in awhile. This team is one pitcher away from being a real contender for the wild card spot.

Not only was it a 2 hitter, but the two hits were a bunt single and an infield hit. Halliday had "no hit" type stuff. Great defense today too with 3 very good plays from Russ Adams at short stop.

I admit there a pitcher away from being a real contender but to say the rest of the staff stinks is a strech. Lilly look's like he's getting back to where he was last year, and Chacin in his rookie year has shown that he has some real good stuff. Not to mention Towers is having a heck of a year to especially for a #5 guy.

Halladay is becomming this generation's Dave Stieb. You have to wonder how many "near misses" Roy is going to suffer before he finally tosses a no hitter.

You're right, I shouldn't be so harsh on the rest of them. I really do like this team. They get bad breaks like Halladay missing a start, Koskie breaks his thumb and they keep playing hard. Let's hope it lasts the rest of the season.

It's not all bad, Hill has been playing amazing since taking over for Koskie.
