Chord breaks while girl bungee jumps over whitewater rapids
So a girl goes bungee jumping in between Zimbabwe and Zambia, but the chord breaks! The worst part is that she is near the rapids produced under the biggest waterfall in the world! She manages to get to shore, but is worse for wear!
There is a video in the link of the accident.

Tough broad.
Still something on my bucket list but I want a big, big, deep, dark, dark canyon to jump into with a raging torrent underneath. I have already lived a long time so it does not matter what happens.
Bungee jumping should only be for old people when you think about it.

What are the odds?? Bungee jumping was one of the most intense out of mind experiences I've ever had. Not that I would do it every week or something. Brave girl she is though, to make it through that took some stones.

She's fortunate that it wasn't the dry season when the river is crawling with crocs.

Crazy accident, that cord was pre-stressed from over use probably.

Bungee jump with broken cord - check
Land in Crocodile infested waters - Check
Swim to shore with feet bound together after plummeting a couple hundred feet - check
Chuck Norris, meet your match.

I read that as she was trying to swim to shore, the cord was getting caught on the rocks. She said she had to swim under water several times to get it un-caught so she could make it to shore. Wonder how many other people would have lived.
Pretty tough girl.

I did that jump about 15 years ago and the rafting below.
The rapids are incredibly fast and violent, mostly grades 4-5. That she managed to survive the fall and then make it to shore in that water with her feet tied together is pretty damn impressive/lucky.
No crocs at that part of the river but a good few further down in the calm spots between rapids.

+1 for not choosing Africa as a place to Bungee jump.
Call me a racist, but there are a good many activities that I would do in Switzerland that I wouldn't think of doing in Zambia.
As for Bungee jumping, that IS something I did in Switzerland, and it was AWESOME. Highly recommended.
