UK witch trial: Court told 15-yr-old tortured and murdered for being a witch
Such a sad and shocking story, in this day and age.
Quote:
A 15-year-old boy was tortured and drowned because a relative believed he was a witch, the Old Bailey has heard.
Kristy Bamu, from Paris, who was spending Christmas with family, was found dead in Newham, east London, on 25 December 2010.
Kristy had 101 injuries and died from a combination of being beaten with weapons and drowning, the court heard.

Africa is such a mess. But what can you do to fix that continent without sounding like a complete and utter racist?

situations like this aren't limited to African belief, sadly:

Days after Michael Brea was arrested for decapitating his mother with a samurai sword Tuesday, the one-time "Ugly Betty" actor has opened up about how the chilling slaying unfolded.
"I didn't kill her. I killed the demon inside her," Michael, 31, told the New York Daily News from the prison ward at Bellevue Hospital. "It was the work of God."

During 2005-MAR, Maricica Irina Cornici, 23, visited Holy Trinity, a Romanian Orthodox monastery in Tanacu in north west Romania in order to visit a friend. (Some news sources report north east Romania; this appears to be an error.) She decided to stay and become a nun. According to a report by MediaFax news agency, she suffered from schizophrenia. However, other news sources report that she had no mental illness. Her behavior caused the priest, Father Daniel Corogeanu, 29, and the nuns at the convent to conclude she was possessed by the Devil.

Violent murders of this sort from mental illness are different from ones caused by a culture of indoctrinated belief in superstition, such as kindoki, which is "practised" in Congolose churches.
