Anybody watching this right now on NBC? (Well, I think it was on CTV last night).
I gotta watch because of Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin. I think it's hilarious but Traci Morgan is getting on my nerves. But at the same time I'm really sad that Tina Fey will nolonger be on Weekend Update - the best thing about SNL for the past 6 years. She's great.

It's not that great a show. They need some tweaks. I'm mainly watching it for Fey and to a lesser degree Baldwin.

Tina Fey and Jane Krakowski (Jenna on the show) are both incredibly cute, and have been funny in other roles...but I think I laughed twice during this show, and both were at Tracy Morgan jokes. It's just the pilot, so I'm willing to give the show another chance next week, but I don't see this one lasting too long.
I honestly feel that NBC won't end up keeping two shows about behind-the-scenes stuff at sketch shows, so I can't say I'm disappointed in seeing this one flop. Y'know, since Studio 60 is the bee's knees and all.

I actually didn't mind it, but somethings got on my nerves. First thing was that we were only introduced to 2 cast members, 3 if you include Tracy Morgan's character.
The other was the background music. I think it should be reserved for Dramas and Action. Doesn't work too well in Sitcom, unless you have an outside view of the Hucstable <sp?> residence.
Too much going on in that first episode, but I think that it was to get as much character development in as possible, as they are what... 3 weeks behind all the other shows of the new season.
Studio 60 is the runaway fave outta the two. But I agree with some tweaks, and without the 2 months of build up with the best jokes in the teaser comercial, the show should improve.
Seinfeld sucked for the first few seasons... I'm gonna give this one some time. I just hope NBC does too.

Just watched the show...A solid piolit IMO.
The acting will improve, it always does. And seeing as NBC has been hurting for a while...this show will probably get a long leash and let it find itself.
Tracy Morgan has finally found a post SNL home. I AM A JEDI! I AM A JEDI!
priceless...

I'm bumping this because this show deserves some more recognition. Is anyone watching it this year?

Of course. One of my favorite shows; I love a lot of the quirky refrences most people wouldn't get

I'm glad this thread got bumped as I've never commented on it. All through the first season my wife followed it and told me I was insane for not watching with her. I started watching in season 2 and wow ... it seems to have a contest each week within my mind as to whether it or the office is the funniest show on tv. If you don't watch it you're missing out in a big way (imo).

Absolutely love this show. It's is hilarious.
The characters on the show are fantastic, I especially like Alec Baldwin he is priceless.
I agree with Russic, it's a toss up between this and the office as to which is funnier.

i watch it sometimes as its on between 2 of my must see shows. its alright. i am not crazy about it. then again it took the office being on before e.r. to get me to watch it and start liking it. i like the fey-baldwin dynamic, but so many of the B story lines just don't keep my interest.

I thought 30 Rock got off to a bit of a slow start in season one, as suggested by some of the original posts from 2006. The second season was fantastic. They amped up the pace and focussed more on Alec Baldwin/Tina Fey dynamic than the Tina Fey/Tracy/Jenna dynamic.
This season has been a bit of a let-down. I don't know if its the pressure of winning an Emmy, but they seem to be struggling with where to take the show next. Still lots of great gags and one-liners, but missing something.
That said, a good 30 Rock episode is easily in the same league as Seinfeld/Arrested Development IMO. It has surpassed The Office as my favourite sitcom right now.

Alec Baldwin makes this show, I would not watch it if he decided to leave. when he was talking about playing both sides and switch hitting in the last episode i lost it. i'm just disappointed that they don't feature Avery more, as she is smoking hot

I think Jack made a big mistake in not going with Julianne Moore.
