When I see stories like this, it is no wonder that hate in the region is so strong. As far as I'm concerned, violating a person's home without just cause is one of the worst things you can do to someone.

Personally I would rather have someone break into my house and watch a soccer match than have someone strap a bomb to themselves and blow me up while I was riding a bus, or at a cafe.

But they went into his home for around 3 minutes, and didn't break anything. It seems like a bunch of dramatics, what you are doing now that is.

So would I, but I'm not sure how that is relevant here. I don't think this family did anything wrong. Their house wasn't confiscated because because of any bomb threat - it was confiscated for selfish purposes. Besides, unjustly breaking into homes doesn't seem like a good strategy to prevent terrorism. If anything, it's the opposite.

That depends on who you believe. If you believe the soldiers (who are also criminals since they unlawfully confiscated a home), then they only stayed for 3 minutes. According to the family that was violated, it was worse than that.

Regardless, I am sure you wouldn't want people breaking into your home for any amount of time.

I wouldn't but I wouldn't call it one of the worst things that I have ever seen. Hell I am sure in an average week I see and talk to people who have worse things happen to them.

I didn't say that is was of the worst things I've seen, just that violating someone's home is one of the worst things you can do to somone. It is humiliating and dehumanizing.

Anyone who has had their home broken into would know what I am talking about. It takes a long time before you feel safe and can get rid of the dirty feeling. I would compare it to an emotional form of rape. Imagine being a man and unable to standup for yourself in front of your children as soldiers take over your home and force you into a room so they can watch TV. Taking away dignity like that would be emotionally scarring for everyone in the family.
