Dumb iphone question

Ive got an unlocked Iphone 3g that was with Rogers, therefor, it used a sim.

Can I use this phone on a service that doesnt use a sim card, such as Telus, Virgin Mobile, etc?

Telus and virgin use sim cards. They both should work.

I'd be careful about trusting a guy with that username

He is right though, certainly about phone / sms functions. You'd have to look into data, I believe Virgin uses a different frequency so you might not get 3g speeds.
