There's a place in Deerfoot Meadows that has un-pho-gettable pho.
...Wow, that was bad even for me.

Then why do they advertise it in the name of the restaurant? Seems pretty dumb.

Basil on 32nd Ave and I think 27th street in the NE (by Sunridge) is supposed to have some unreal satay pho. It's very clean, always busy, very good food.

Whenever I'm in Calgary, Pho Pasteur behind the harry hays building in China Town is always the first pho place I try to get to. This will probably come up a few times in the thread as well.

I wasnt a fan of the ones (don't know the names) in Beacon Hill and that one by T&T in country hills. The one in deerfoot meadows blows these away.

Oriental Phoenix gets a big thumbs down from me
Overpriced, small portions and terrible pho make for a bad experience.
Can't remember the name of the place I go to, but it's in China town, in the mall beside the Harry Hays building

That's my go-to place usually, it beats anywhere I've been in the NW.
But for my favourite in the city, it has to be Mina's Vietnamese, in Avenida. It takes me like 30 mins to drive there, but I'll still make the trip once a month or so.

Worst Viet place in Calgary, I go out of my way to tell people not to go there the food is so bland.
Pho da bo on 17th ave SE by the Arbys and BK makes some of the best pho in the city. If you want good pho dont goto a Viet Place goto a Pho Place.

It irks me that a tasty dish like Pho (which is considered breakfast food in Vietnam BTW at about $25 cents a bowl) has gone from bargain food status at $6.50 a bowl to $9.50 a bowl wtih vastly smaller portions in the last 2 years.
Yes, I know things get more expensive here with Labour and overhead but those haven't gone up 50%. I've certainly cut back on my Pho intake from 2x a week to once every two weeks. At $9.50 a bowl I have a lot of options.
