Adam has put up 19 points already this season, and is under a good contract for the next 2 years. That definitely helps moving forward as I can utilize some extra $ on other players. It does suck to lose Gudbranson, but already having a full compliment of D-men, it makes sense to address other areas of need.

Well this was a very quick and painless deal. Florida was looking for a winger, we have a load of young forwards on the roster or ready to break in next year so I could use another young defenseman. I think that Adam is ahead of Gundbranson in terms of development and that he is proving he is a solid top 6 NHLer already, but I think with our organizational depth we can gamble on Gund and hope he lives up to his potential down the road.
