Default Car HELP!!

Okay so where do I begin...

I pulled a remote starter installed by some guy I bought a car off of (2006 Corolla) because I saw the connections were pretty poor so i wanted to rewire it. When I pulled the remote starter I heard a slight pop with the 12v constant ignition wire. I tried to start the car again and tried to drive it. It started fine, but the rpm gauge was at 0. I can't drive the car now either because I can't get the car out of park and the air bag light is lit. Anyone know what I can do??

Thanks for your replies. Turns out I had a burn 25A fuse under the dash. Incredibly frustrating to get at. Now that problem is fixed I have developed a new one...

The car idles and drives at low rpm causing the car to vibrate hard. The car's an automatic but when I'm putting on gas it drives fine. Normally when you turn off a car it will kind of grumble then stop. My car right now is so grumbly all the time it just turns off.... if that makes any sense.

I should also say it starts up fine and drives fine without any vibration and rpm being good then after it warms up the rpms drop and the car vibrates hard.

Hopefully it's just a security thing that needs to be reset. You did this without disconnecting the battery?

It could be the main fuse, located under the hood near the air cleaner.

The choke needs resetting? Does it happen only in cold temp or even in the summer? Is worse in the cold?

I am sooooooo not a mechanic but this is what was wrong with my car years ago.

I'd try disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. It will reset some of the electronics and may clear up your idling problem.

Sounds EGR Valve related.

Definetely try disconnecting the battery cable to "reset" the computer. Odds are it needs to relearn the idle mixture again.

Also check your manual. It should have a procedure for having the computer relearn the idle mixture. (ie idle for x minutes, drive for x kms no-stops, drive for x kms in traffic...)

So I tried to disconnect the battery and reattach it. The problem still exists. So I read some people had to drive 200-300 km before their computer learnt the idle. Is there a more definitive test to know? I'll be potentially driving back to Calgary from Edmonton but last thing I want is my car to break down.

I also want to say when I shift after the car warmed up from park to drive, neutral etc. the rpm stay the same.
