JOB OVERVIEW
The Quality Management Plan (QMP) Lead directs the activities of the Non-Production Asset Compliance Verification group and collaborates with the QMP Coordinators, Construction Coordinators, Planners, Contractors within Suncor to ensure compliance to the Quality Management Plan(s), the Safety Codes Act and adopted regulations made pursuant to the Act.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES- Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Safety Codes Act and adopted regulations
- Ensure conformance to the Suncor Energy Inc. Quality Management Plan and initiate corrective actions on non-compliances
- Provide leadership and direction on matters dealing with the execution of the QMP to ensure that full conformance to the plan is initiated for all projects
- Monitor the status and compliance of all building permits and work failings under the Safety Codes Act and report any issues arising from non-conformances or non-compliances to the Administrator
- Administer the Oil Sands Quality Management Plans
- Review and approve building and site plans
- Issue permits for proposed construction, relocation or demolition
- Inspect buildings under construction to ensure compliance with building codes
- Develop, maintain, and publish quality metrics on a scheduled basis for review by the Management Team
- Lead/perform Quality Audits as directed
- Interface with the Alberta Safety Codes Council, Alberta Municipal Affairs, and 3rd Party Inspection Agencies
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:- Registration or eligibility for registration as a Safety Codes Officer with Building Group Ar, A and B Level 3 in the province of Alberta
- Province of Alberta Journeymen Certificate (or equivalent) in an applicable trade covered by the Code
- Architect or Engineer (civil or mechanical) and three years relevant post degree experience
Skills and Knowledge:- Working knowledge of Alberta Building Code
- Excellent facilitation, investigation and problem solving skills
- Highly motivated, organized and detail oriented and can work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to set priorities and work assignments and meet established deadlines
- Ability to analyze work situations and resolve issues with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and analytical with self-initiative
- Ability to work within timelines
