Played Friday at the Dome, great show, a fair bit from American Idiot, but went back for some past hits like Warning and Minority. Dome was packed, although I swear the average age there was around 16. Loud quite possibly louder than the Dome during the SCF... felt some twinges of Playoff flashbacks coming back. Damn you Goodenow.

My big beef - Saddledome security was severely understaffed - it took us over an hour of waiting on the +15 bridge to get in and into our seats. Packed liked cattle. About 4 doors were open on the left side of the ticket office, with frisking. Totally missed the opening act, My Chemical Romance because of that. p*ssed off at that as I totally wanted to see them. Who's the best person to file a beef with, the Kinger, or someone else?

I agree man, damn good show!!! Kind of funny that a lot of the kids there weren't even born when Green Day formed and were maybe toddlers when Dookie came out!

I know a lot of people have been complaining about lines before concerts due to security. The thing is, that's not gonna change. You gotta show up early and try to get a good spot in line before the door even open. Also, walk around the dome and scope out the other entrances. A lot of people herd themselves like sheep in to the main northwest entrance causing a huge traffic jam there but even at the west entrance maybe 100 feet to the right the lineup was only 3 or 4 people wide and moved quite swiftly. I arrived at the Dome around 7:05 (not very early at all), stood in west entrance line and was in my seats by maybe 7:40 or 7:45 and caught 4 or 5 of MCR's songs. The only thing the Dome staff should maybe do is open the doors earlier and start searching people with lots of time before the opening act plays.

On a side note, MCR has quickly moved up the ladder of bands that I like over the past year. This was my first time seeing them live. They played OK but don't have the greatest live sound. Just not quite polished enough. They're still pretty new though, only like 4 years together. Good energy on stage though and fun to watch.

I saw them wehen they played the Coliseum here in Van back in November and that was quite honestly one of the best shows I have ever seen. I dont know if they played these at your show, but they did a cover of We Are the Champions, and that was quite honestly one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Just an amazin show.....Green Day Rules

They certainly did play We Are The Champions. One final sentiment before their last song, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life).

Definately a great show! Like IHH said, there were quite a few bops in the crowd...ah well, no big deal. Overheard one kid complaining that they did too many cover songs (3?) - c'mon, that's what makes live shows great. And they cut off the beer extremely early into the concert - didn't like that, but can respect it.

I too didn't get in to see My Chemical Romance - we were outside at the West Entrance going nowhere for 30 minutes, so we went around to the East entrance and got in within 3 minutes.

Picked some great songs from American Idiot and good older tunes as well...but I was disappointed they didn't play "When I Come Around". But I won't hold that against them because everything else was very good.

Probably whoever can get more people to work for the 'Dome

Last I heard, the place was severly understaffed, and with the lockout, retaining employee's has been low. I think (I could be wrong) that this was more of a problem of not enough people wanting to work there vs. Saddledome's desired number of staff.

MCR is one of the worst bands I've ever seen live. They sound totally unpolished and way different from the CD (which isn't surprising as their newest CD is WAY over-produced). Plus, they don't play any of their old songs (which is their only decent stuff). Their latest CD was pre-packaged pop with wannabe goth wrapping.

Did they pull the stupid "Do you wanna fata me? Do you wanna put a knife to my throat?" crap at the Green Day concert? If not, you're lucky. One of the saddest things I've seen at a concert.

I thought I was a Green Day before but after seeing them live, even is the complete farthest seat from the stage, I have to say that Im a Green Dayaholic now. They played Jesus of Suberbia to perfection, their old stuff never sounded so good. Wish they woulda played When I Come Around but I guess they can't play everything. I think I sense a road trip to Vancouver coming on after announcing their summer tour.
