Please note the source Steyn gives for his $50,000 figure. Notice that you won't find any such source.
According to the government, over $90 million has already been given to a variety of NGOs, with a further $300+ million to be paid over the next few years.
Here are the agencies that have already received money from the Canadian government:
Quote:
The organizations receiving matching funds for relief and early rehabilitation are: Adventist Development and Relief Agency ($648,000), Canadian Food for the Hungry International ($186,000), the Canadian Red Cross ($51.5 million), CARE Canada ($2.6 million), Christian Reformed World Relief Committee ($1.6 million), Development and Peace ($1.3 million), International Development and Relief Foundation ($87,200), Save the Children Canada ($1.1 million), UNICEF ($15.2 million) and World Vision Canada ($15.4 million).

Ummm, where exactly did I bash your precious 'liberals'? Kinda funny how you defend them before anyone has even said anything.
If you read my comment I actually asked "if that is true?", I didn't jump to any conclusions.

My comment wasn't aimed at you, but rather Mark Steyn, the author of the article you linked. He goes out of his way to bash Paul Martin.
