Many reasons none of us know for sure, but it isn't like this took that long of time to come on. I'd say it is just about average.

Nothing special? No, you're probably right, but it was a funny movie.

It got delayed for some reason, it was supposed to be released on April 5th, but I don't know what happened. All I know is that if it weren't for the new Reel Big Fish CD, I woulda' been mighty p*ssed on April 5th.

Is it any different than what was shown in the theatres?

according to trey parker when he was on conan, the distribution censors cut the lovemaking scene down to just the dirty sex, so i'm not holding my breath for extra puppet moves or anything...

kinda like what happened with southpark the movie, the censors told them to cut way back on the swearing, so they ADDED the uncle-fata-er song, and the film passed.

Am I the only one who didn't really like this movie much? I loved the first few seasons of south park and the movie, and didn't even mind baseketball and orgazmo, but I didn't like this one much at all. Maybe I was just surprised that it was so pro-american/pro-war, since that was pretty much the opposite of what I was expecting.

Agreed though that this movie took a long time to come out on DVD. Not really sure why.

Yup.

I love South Park. I was 18 when the movie came out, and it blew my funny-bone out. Probably one of the funniest 'first-time' watches I've ever seen.

I had pretty high expectations for Team America, given the creators and the cool topic. I thought it fell flat on its face. The puppet's features were funnier than the actual lines, and a lot of the celebrity-bashing looked a lot more like axe-grinding than anything intelligent.

Smart guys, and an admirable attempt, but they failed with me on this one.

I actually enjoyed some parts of this movie, but I was really drawn to the difficulty of shooting a movie using puppets, and it was weird that at times the puppets were really life like. And at other times they had intentional blunders so you would remember what they were.

There were some classic scenes too. The sex scene was completely over the top and gross at times, but I was laughing just the same, because it was no different then GI joe coming in off a long stint in the field and eyeing up barbie.

The scene outside of the bar when Gary was drunk was way over the top, but again I found it to be funny.

The destruction of Paris to me was great.

And Kim was the highlight of the picture with the whole scene

Kim Jong Il: And now da destwuction of de worurd is inedidable
Lisa: It's what?
Kim Jong Il: Ine - ine - inedidable.
Lisa: One more time...
Kim Jong Il: I said, da destwuction of da worurd is inedible. God damn, open your fatin' eaws, girw!

Oh and I line that I plan to use really soon

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gary Johnston: A flying limo? Now I've seen everything.
Spottswoode: Really? Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
Gary Johnston: No.
Spottswoode: So you HAVEN'T seen everything

1) South Park rules.

2) I picked up Team America today when I got the System of a Down CD, about to go watch it!

P.S. SOAD CD kicks major ass.

First of all it is funny

Second of all it is intelligent

Finally, YOU DON'T GET IT

That's right, I'M telling YOU.

I find your use of "crap, crap, crap, garbage, crap" ironic in this post.

I challenge you to watch any of the following episodes and tell me again what you just said:

612 - A Ladder to heaven
408 - Chef Goes Nanners
401 - Cartman's Silly Hate Crime 2000
701 - I'm a Little Bit Country
513 - Kenny Dies

Not only is South Park funny, and intelligent, it also provides the best social commentary of any show.

hmmm...

how can we be fans, eh?

you mean how can someone like something different than what you like?

why don't you run home and ask your mommy?

the social commentary and the 'sneak in' of serious issues really blows me away in southpark, even these days as the show goes off the rails.

trends of modern living and how children are raised apathetically by their parents with video games and pharmaceuticals are on the show all the time.

racism, christian missionary work, etc. are made fun of all the time. people need to lighten up aboot that stuff, so they take it on.

on a more serious note matt stone and trey parker have taken on the system and try to bring it down, all the time.

they put every episode on the internet 3 days after release on tv.

they were paid millions of dollars by some pushy hollywood type to make a children's cartoon aboot 'princess' the dog, so they took the front money and made... well, check it out sometime. try and buy these guys, good luck.

and there is something sweet about the way they make fun of anyone trying to dumb down america as they see it, or celebrities that try to tell people what to think, etc.

deep and funny stuff.

not your thing?

fine, not your thing.

no intelligent?

it's the most intellectual thing on television!

Dude, you're a grown man. What are you going to say next, Beavis and Butthead has the answers to the universe? Southpark is f'n lame and I can't believe adults watch it. Also, those 2 ######-bags who made the show are morons and it's too bad they are from Canada (if they are).

Why the hell would you assume they are from Canada?
I know at least one of them is From Littleton (of Columbine infamy) and I'm pretty sure they grew up together so I think they both are.

Anyway, have you ever watched the show? Sure it's lowest common denominator humour, and the jokes are usually pretty crude, but most episodes are actully a response to or rooted in some sort of real issue. Is it great social commentary that will change the world? Hell no. Is it a funny cartoon that you can laugh about and if you are inclined/perceptive/intelligent enough, you can pick up on what is generally a fairly moderate view of any number of issues? You bet it is.

Southpark is an adult show. It is definately NOT for kids. It has adult humor and adult themes. I can understand that it may not be your cup of tea but your post suggests you've not watched it much. I wouldn't want my kid (if I had one) to watch this show until they were at least 14 or 15. The humor is very dark and is some of the most biting satire on TV.
