Seeing the wreckage makes me wonder how good a shape people would be in if in fact they did make it.
Also wonder if everyone in the car was ok.
Quote:
It is not known at this time what caused the crash, but it is known that it was a private charter.
Seven people were on board at the time, and while six have been pulled from the wreckage, one woman is still being rescued.
The plane is a Beech aircraft owned by Northern Thunderbird Air Inc.
The site of the crash is near the Olympic Oval, near Gilbert Road and Russ Baker Way.
Jon, a Global viewer, said emergency crews were working on people in the middle of the intersection, and parts of the plane were scattered all over Russ Baker Road.
There was also reportedly one car involved.

Kind of relieved to hear it wasn't a bigger plane with hundreds of people on board. Nonetheless a tragedy.

Looks like the article got revised.

The plane turned around about 15 minutes after takeoff but did not make it back to the airport, crashing on Russ Baker Way in Richmond, said the eyewitness, a pilot who asked not to be identified.

This has been a rough year for Canadian aviation. Enough already.

Wow, did anyone else watch the video right after the crash. Huge respect for the bystanders that rushed to the plane to get people out, even one guy there with a fire extinguisher trying to keep the flames back as they pulled them out.

Aw damn, the pilot succumbed to his injuries and the first officer has burns to 80% of his body.

Crazy stuff; sad to hear the pilot lost his life but was able to make this less tragic than it could have been. Edited OP for corrected article
