Stars pick up a big 2 points over the ducks. Pp finally got on the board. Lost coburn for a week though so that sucks. Probably that dirty Matt Cooke....

40 shots to tampa's 20 and I still get beat in a shutout . On the plus side I got a point, Tangs scored another goal, and Dan Ellis got an Assist!

I also hurt one of his players and got hosed on a goal review:

Michael Ryder is injured at 13:17 of 2nd period (Broken Bone (Left Arm))
Winnipeg Jets goal is going for a video replay. After video review, No Goal. The referee deems the play has been stopped, even if he had not physically had the opportunity to stop play by blowing his whistle.

The Positives
  • Thomas with a 957 sv %
  • Shut down Smyth and Kunitz who are leading the league in points
  • Big game from the Rich Peverley and Tuomo Ruutuu on the 3rd line
  • Paul Stastny put up a couple points to continue his solid play after a slow start

The Negatives
  • 49 Shots against means a fatigued Thomas
  • Adam Burish was dinged up, while Marek Zidlicky will miss a month with a sports hernia

That about sums it up for the Islanders first loss at home

my win will be when I decimate your first 2 lines and you go on a 0-15 run that keeps you out of the playoffs. Oh what a joyous day that shall be !

Sabres made a bunch of line changes for this one and then inexplicably (sorry!) forget to send them. oh well a win anyways, 3rd straight against conference foes. The first line continues to pace the Sabres, Milan Hejduk tied for the league lead in scoring now proving to be a great offseason addition and Alex Steen is also in the top 10. Need to get some of the 2nd liners going without disrupting the first line chemistry

Jose Theodore stood on his head and stole some points for the Bolts.

Looks like goaltending will be the backbone of the Lightning this season.
