Good game, no need to blow it up for now.

Sens drop another game in a shootout. 1-0-2 to start the season. The positive is that we have points in every game but we have to figure out how to win shootouts. Looks like lots of close games coming this year.

Devils move to 2-0 to start the season, and the first line decides to contribute this time. Four straight goals in the 3rd win it.

Being the nice guy that I am, I'm pleased to see Detroit get there 1st win of the season. Hiller spotted 4 early goals on 13 shots...not his finest performance.

Some good things to take from the game
-generating a lot more shots then we're giving up
-special teams were 100%
-or farm team backup actually played ok in relief of hiller.

Tim Thomas turned aside 37 of 38 shots, while Paul Stastney scored the overtime winner.

Blow it up time Pens?

After being down 2-0 it was nice to come back and get the win, Kunitz nets the game winner in the 3rd to continue where he left off in the pre-season. Seidenberg and Myers don't seem to be working well together, both -3 today and had several games like that in the pre-season, we will see who gets demoted to the 2nd pairing next game.

Lose by two but the game was closer than the score shows. The difference was CAR's PP.

We managed to edge the Blues 5-4 and start the season 2-0. I have a feeling its all downhill from here though....can we just start the playoffs today?

Despite the shootout win, just too many shots are getting on goal. Something will have to be done.

Note from GM: Schedule gets back to normal starting tonight. I'll get back to the PMs I have at that time.

Better showing for the Sabres after a poor debut, back to our preaseason ways winning yet another in a shootout, our first line put up good numbers today, and Mike Green with the SO winner.

The Jackets with a solid effort and a great night overall for the 2nd line of Couture-Richards-Stewart. Mike Richards comes away with 4 points on the evening as that line was just dominant. The Jackets had 3 tough games to start the year and are sitting at 2-1. We'll take it and it looks like Rinne can handle the #1 job and he has looked good.

3 Stars

1 - Chris Stewart (CBJ)
2 - Mike Richards (CBJ)
3 - Logan Couture (CBJ)
