Bad luck for Arctic Planes recently.

Can't believe this, city isn't even done mourning over the Resolute Bay crash and now this happens.. It's impossible to live in YK without having some connection to the aviation industry and this hits a lot of people hard, including me. Pilots might have saved some lives though, immediately to the sides of where the plane crashed are a group of condos and an office building, with a bed and breakfast and cafe just across the street. RIP to the crew, condolences to the families and the injured

I was up there a few weeks ago visiting the inlaws, and you could really tell that that accident had hit people hard.

RIP.

Yeah there must have been a couple thousand people at the main memorial service for the First Air accident, which was, kind of ironically, held at the Arctic Sunwest hangar (the company whose Twin Otter crashed today). At the end of the memorial service there was a flypast by a number of planes, the last one being a Canadian North 737, which was nice to see:

Still can't believe what happened today..
