Blockbuster Video Closing Stores: Some deals to be had
There's a few blockbuster videos closing in Calgary, and they're selling pretty much everything.
Everything right now is 30% off, including all the titles being currently rented, so the stock of "previously viewed" is pretty good.
I went to the BB in the NE and got a few video games, didn't pick up any blu-rays though there were lots there. Selection was great but today was the first day.. the guy said they'll likely increase the discounts as they go along but the best stuff will get picked over pretty good I bet.
They had some hardware too and special editions (Halo Reach). And some Mario Wii games for 30% off are hot since they never seem to decrease in price.
Anyway picked up Heavy Rain for $12, Uncharted 2 for $20, and Bayonetta + Namco Museum for $12 for both.

Also a movie store named Movies Plus in Monterey plaza (near the co-op) closing, I managed to get Uncharted 2 for 15$ I believe it was(pre-played of course). They had blu-rays and such too
Man, I worked for big blue when I was younger and made lots of friends there. Sad to see it go, the Brick Plaza location I worked at and it was the first blockbuster in Calgary too way back when.
Wasn't it that US blockbuster was the one failing miserably and Canadian one doing ok? US creditors forced US debt onto the Canadian subsidary and now there are issues with some store closures?
Anyways, got me some sweet deals. Little big planet 2 and NFS shift 2 for $35ea.

I almost got Castlevania too, but I haven't even finished God of War 3 and still have Dante's Inferno AND Bayonetta so I figured I'm good for that kind of game for now.

I saw someone hauling out seasons of TV shows. $1/disc was what the lady with the sex in the city stacks of DVDs was saying... so you could get an entire season under $10. That's a pretty good deal.
Picked up Kane and Lynch 2 for $17, Role models for about $8, and the girlfriend picked up a new copy of Snow white to add to her disney collectoin for $18
