Default Egyptian Mob breaks into the Israeli embassy

Hmmmm....1979 all over again? This time with the Little Satan.

Quote:
CAIRO (AP) -- Protesters broke into the Israeli Embassy in Cairo Friday and dumped documents out of the windows as hundreds more demonstrated outside, prompting the ambassador to rush to the airport to leave. The unrest was a further worsening of already deteriorating ties between Israel and post-Hosni Mubarak Egypt.
Egyptian police made no attempt to intervene during the day as crowds of hundreds tore down an embassy security wall with sledgehammers and their bare hands or after nightfall when about 30 protesters stormed into the Nile-side high-rise building where the embassy is located.
Just before midnight, the group of protesters reached a room on one of the embassy's lower floors at the top of the building and began dumping Hebrew-language documents from the windows, said an Egyptian security official who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.
Any conflict between Israel and Egypt would create chaos. Anyone want to throw down 10,000 bucks that Egypt will be a 1. peaceful democracy 2. Theocracy or 3. Military Dictatorship.

Anyone want to go double or nothing for Libya now that they are currently enjoying killing black men?

Freedom is untidy and free people are free to make mistakes and commit crimes and do bad things.

Funny. That what people said when the Iranians grabbed the US embassy. So far history has not been fully repeated. No hostages yet that we know of.

The problem with both Libya and Egypt is that it doesn't look like the current systems of rule are going to be replaced with anything better unfortunately. It's sad because it seems like there is/could be so much progress, but it could actually end up worse than it is now.

Like the Arabs and Isrealis will ever make peace in our lifetime. It's not going to happen in any of our lifetimes.

I have a hard time feeling much sympathy for Israel really, they have acted like the little prick in the playground who gets his big brother to back him up for way too long.

Different circumstances, different time or aren't you capable of adjusting your responses.

When the Iran revolution happened the USA was the great Satan as far as the people of Iran felt. The USA actively supported the Shau who the people were rebelling against.

In this Arab Spring the USA is cautiously supporting the people and in the case of Libya, NATO is actively supporting the rebels. You can look at the Israeli Embassy as collateral damage. Nobody is sure how this will turn out but the people kicking out their dictators for a chance at freedom is a good thing. Far better than Bush's plan of freeing countries by force at extreme costs. As the saying goes, 'you can collect more flies with honey than with vinegar'.

Welcome to the 21st century.

If they are mostly on our side, what difference if they are armed or not.
