Default Anaheim Bars/Pubs

Hey CP,

So I'll be heading to Anaheim with a buddy to catch an Angel's game this Friday. I was just wondering where people would recommend we stay? Obviously we are going to go out after the game and since Anaheim is so family oriented I don't think we want to be in Anaheim. Thoughts/suggestions? Maybe Huntington Beach?

Also any good ideas for a hotel?

There is a big party scene around Hermosa Beach:

I will echo troutman, if you are young and looking for a good time Hermosa is the place to be at night.

Well I wouldn't say I'm young - at least in age.

I'm thinking that might be a little far from Angels's stadium though after looking at it on the map.

I was just in Anaheim last week. Stayed at the Lemon Tree Hotel (it's actually mainly a Motel). It was cheap but really good. Not sure what your budget is but if you're not wanting to spend a lot, it's a good option. Our room was like $60.

If you're more of a high roller, I love the Island Hotel in Newport Beach near Fashion Island. The Oilers used to stay there a few years back.

For something to do after the game, Downtown Disney is actually pretty cool. They have an ESPN Zone (plus 3-4 other bars) and it's just down the street from Angel Stadium. Parking is free if you're out after 3 hours.

Another option is The Block in Orange which is just south one exit on the I-5. It's an outdoor complex with shops, bars, restaurants, etc. The shops are open until midnight and the bars/restaurants are open later. http://www.blockatorange.com

If you want something with a little more excitement, check out Sharkeez at Newport Beach.

This is really helpful, thanks!

I'd like to stay closer to Anaheim and not have to take a 45 minute cab ride anywhere since I'm sure I'll be stumbling out of Angels Stadium.

When we go to Yankees games in anaheim - my wife and I always stay at the Ayres hotel. It is walking distance to Angel stadium and there is a big brew pub right next door. It is pretty reasonable and we have stayed there 5 or 6 times
