Default Steam Cleaner Rental

Hey guys.

I need to rent a carpet cleaner to steam clean my house. I live right beside Canadian Tire but not sure if they rent them. Where's the best/cheapest place to do this?

Helpful, aren't you. Sheesh.

I believe Safeway rents them (but not sure if it's cheap). I think the cleaning detergents are where you'll spend the most money (and less so on the rental of the unit itself).

I actually have the soap, I just need the cleaner. I dont have a lot of carpet to do. And yes I will probably stop by the Crappy Tire unless someone can tell me that they don't rent them. I would just like to avoid trying to squeeze some sort of customer service out of that god-forsaken hell hole.

Sobey's rents them. It wasn't too expensive, and they had two different sizes.

I didn't realize grocery stores rented them. Are they the smaller ones that you use for curtains and whatnot? Because I need one to do a decent amount of floor.

Home Depot also rents them.

Hahaha ok let me clarify. I know most hardware stores etc are going to rent them. I'm more wondering what the least expensive option is. From what I can find they don't post prices on their websites for rental equipment.

Home depot is the cheapest place to rent, I think it's $25 for 4 hours.

Also if the price is comparable to other places go to Home depot, the machines they have are vastly superior to anywhere else I have rented in the past.

HD also has a discount if you rent on certain days, and yes they have an upolstry attachment you could probably use on curtains

I know Safeway rents them. If you go mid week (I don't know which day specifically) you can rent it 2 days for the price of one day. I think it costs around $30 for the unit itself.

Give them a shout for the acctual prices tough as when I rented the unit it was a couple years ago.

The ones at Sobeys are for floors. I think it was like $30 or $35 for the day but that was a couple years ago.

For the price to purchase, I recommend buying one. I picked up a bissel steam cleaner for ~$350 a couple years back. Not cheap I'll be the first to admit but man is it handy to have one you can use anytime. This one came with a ton of attachments that you can use to steam clean the carpet in your car.

Even better for those with pets. Have a small accident and you can easily and effectivley clean it on the spot.

Not for everyone I realize but certainly not a bad investment. Just make sure you clean them properly when you are done wit them and they will give you years of service.

I would proabably consider buying one if I could do without textbooks this year haha. But for the once a year (if that) I use one I think renting is probably the way to go haha.

+1. IIRC Costco has Bissels for around $200.
