A big trade to announce!

To Devils:

Corey Perry

To Jets:

Mike Cammalleri
Brad Marchand
Brandon Gormley

Perry was, justifiably so, an expensive asset to acquire, but I felt like I was able to make this trade. I think Perry's 91 SC is going to go well with Richards' 90 PA.

I suppose if it doesn't work out, I can always turn around and trade Perry to get this type of deal back. Marchand hurts to get rid of a bit, but realistically I had him in as a 4th liner for my team to start the year and I am sure I can get one of those to replace him before the season begins.

Can see both sides to this, but definitely like it more for the Devils. Any time you add the reigning MVP, it's a good trade.

Perry is sure getting around. Seems like appropriate value. Perry is clearly the best piece but I like what the Jets got back in terms of immediate help and some key building blocks long-term.

Yeah I like this deal for both sides. The Devils could have used another star and they added one in Perry. The Jets will benefit from adding 2 very young assets combined with a guy like Cammy who is by no means old.

Good deal for NJ. Marchand is a classic sell high guy. He'll be good but I don't see him being more then a 3rd liner. Gormley, well he's landed in prospects hell in Phoenix (Thiknov, Turris, Boedker etc etc, they are really fudging up prospects down there so he's no guarantee to turn out good). Cammi is Cammi, wish he was still a Flame and Bou wasn't.

I like it for the Devils, I don't see Cammy getting any better or even staying the same, Marchand is a nice piece but will never be a top linder in my mind, and GOrmley is up in the air, although a vaulauble prospect for the time being.

I talked to a lot of GM's in the last couple days. I want to thank "most" the GMs for good talks. It got quite a bit hectic when everyone was messaging me at the same time. It was a fun process and I am happy with my return.
Cammi is still a good player, Marchand has the upside to be a great 2 way force, and Gormley is a top 10 prospect in the league in my eyes. Thanks for the deal and the patience with me Steve !
