Here's your chance to watch some great baseball
The Okotoks Dawgs have advanced to the WMBL finals to battle the East champions, Regina Red Sox. The Dawgs and the Red Sox finished the regular season with the 2 best records in the league. It's a best of 5 final series that starts Wednesday night in Regina. Games 3 and 4 will be played Friday and if necessary Saturday night at 7:05 at Seaman Stadium in Okotoks.
To those that don't know, the league is comprised of college and university players from Canada and the United States. It's developmental league where players come to hone thier skills. The season starts June 1st and ends on around the 15th of August as players return to thier school's. Many players from the league have been drafted by MLB teams.
As Jiri has pointed out in another thread, Seaman Stadium is a slice of heaven. There are no bad seats in the stadium and it's a great atmosphere to watch a ball game. Admission is very reasonable as $10 gets you any seat in the stadium and $5 gets a place on the grass berm on the left field line. Food and beer prices are very reasonable also. I should add they make a great hamburger and hotdog.
Come out and cheer on the Dawgs as they battle for thier 5th WMBL championship

It's all over. Regina Red Sox scores 7 runs in the top of the 6th inning to beat the Okotoks Dawgs 7-3 and win the 2011 WMBL championship. The Dawgs leaving thier starting pitcher in for one too many innings was the difference.
