Default Hotwire.com Car Rental Question

As i mentioned a few times, the family is letting me vacation with them in San Diego next week. We have decided to rent a vehicle instead of relying on a mix of taxi/public transportation.

I am assuming that there are some people out here who have rented vehicles via Hotwire - if so what was your experience, is there any fine print I need to be aware of.

Based on a search of a few other car rental websites they seem to offer the best deal.

Never had a bad experience with Hotwire. Cars, hotels, etc. My wife just returned from a week in San Diego, rented with them and was happy.

my wife and i went to phoenix in march and used hotwire for our car

we went with the least expensive car we could and it was fine

my wife found a coupon (online i think) for them - so dig around and you can save yourself some more $$

the hotwire people i talked to on the phone were great and we had absolutely no problems at all - over all a great first experience with them

Just be aware that the rental company is going to try to get more from you. Just make sure your current car insurance covers you for a rental in the States. The last car I rented- the agent tried to tell us that Canadian insurance wouldn't cover us. Fortunately I was able to text my insurance broker as he is also a friend.

I've used Hotwire many times and am a happy customer. But be ABSOLUTELY SURE before you book because there will be no refund if you make a mistake or cancel your trip.
