Your customer reviews: 2 Good 1 Bad
CP is be a great source of information and I have always found referrals and first hand experience to be great assets to my retail experiences. Thought I'd offer up a bit of a resource for first hand experiences from local businesses where you offer 2 good experiences and 1 bad to share with CP. Me first:
1) Bike Bros. (Cochrane) - They were able to find me a discontinued bike rack, ate the shipping cost and even charged me $5 less than what they had originally quoted me. Definitely worth the trip to Cochrane.
2) Done Right Sports - I've had quick and effective skate sharpening and goalie gear repairs through these guys and their sports gear cleaner is cheap and effective. I think it is only $25 to use their ozone machine and your equipment is sanitized in only 20 minutes. Check these guys out.
3) Saint Germaine Restaurant - It took more than an hour to get from appetizers to entrees and I was told that a steak cooked medium shouldn't have any pink inside. My replacement steak was blue-rare and cold in the middle. I'd never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

LOL, the only time a steak should not have pink in it at all is when it's well done. Even a medium-well steak still has a slight hint of pink.

Looks like the reviews on tripadvisor are just as bad: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restauran...y_Alberta.html
P.S. Overpriced, snooty restaurants with crappy food piss me off. When I go to a restaurant, I go for the food first and foremost. If you can't deliver the goods on the plate, I don't care how good the service is or how nice of an atmosphere it is. /rant

What the fata? I can't believe someone who works in the food industry would be as stupid as to say that the inside of medium steak shouldn't have pink inside it.
I get/cook my steaks medium and they have a lot of pink inside them. I would have walked into the kitchen and called the Chef an idiot if that's what he thought.

GOAT!

I don't get what the issue is with the blue-rare replacement, though. It's the only way a steak should be eaten!

1. Bank of Montreal Air Miles - Debit ($40/1 Mile), Silver Master Card ($20/1 Mile). There is also a Gold Card. Great combined with Spend $100 get 100 Miles days at Safeway.
2. Extreme Pita - Great low Carbs, Low Calorie options. Probably the only take out food that you can get away with on a diet.
(Turd) Tauros Vietnamese food - This place has the worst food I think ive ever eaten.
The food is so bad I cant think of a single thing that there good at. They probably couldnt even make tea properly.

A lot of people mistakenly think Donairs (I think that's what you're getting there) are good for them, but they are actually really high in fat. I wouldn't recommend eating them on a diet.

I never said anything like that. I was meerly stating how Extreme Pita has like 18 Pitas under 400 calories, and unlike other places like Subway/Tim Hortons have loads of carbs in the bread. I appreciate your contribution, or lack there of. I suppose thats what we should expect from your posts these days.

Extreme Pita rules. That is one good business I'll chip in a second vote for.
Also a fan of Enterprise Rent-a-car. Usually much more reasonable and less dickish than other rental companies (particularly Budget, which sucks).
Budget sucks.

Agreed! I'm of the opinion that cooking a steak any more than medium-rare is overcooking and thus ruining the meat.

Those boys at dun-rite know how to take care of your dancing shoes.......
Went to a restaurant in Canmore called the wood - the food was decent but the service was brutal. Kids were done for 20 minutes and there was no sign of the food that the wife and I ordered. Wife complained to the manager and he took care of the $50 dollar bill. Not sure if I am complaining or bragging

Ah, "The Wood." The place has always had notoriously poor service. Back in the day it used to be called the "Sherwood House"... which prompted customers to say "sure would like some service around here." (Insert cymbal crash here.)

I'll second this. Enterprise is awesome to deal with.
Budget is good if you want to be treated like an escaped convict. I wouldn't be surprised if they started taking fingerprints before you get the car. I'll never rent there again, due to their extreme lack of customer service.
Which reminds me, they actually called the police on a guy when I was there once (downtown firehall). He kept saying he had returned the car and they were still billing him, and he wanted to speak to the manager (who wouldn't come out of the back office). I thought he was a bit agressive about it, but not threatening, and speaking to the manager didn't seem unreasonable.

Thanked this by mistake. I had many nice meals at the Sherwood House back in the 90s. Service was good as well. Then again, I am accustomed to the standards of service in England.

Bumping my own thread just so I can give a thumbs up to the following businesses:
Supreme Shine - Initially bought a Groupon via CP User GoFlamesGo and CalgaryDealsBlog and had two of our vehicles detailed. I forget the names of the two guys that run the place but I left happy and with a renewed pride of my shiny Subie. Even without the Groupon voucher, I think their regular price isn't too bad of value compared to other detailing shops.
Laurier Lounge - Strong beer, patio, Fondue & Poutine. 'Nuff said.
No shout out for a place that sucks this time. Maybe just Futureshop for never being able to improve their horrid customer service and Superstore for selling rotten Strawberries all the time.
