Default Steam Summer Sale 2011

It's on again - first day today. Big thing in the next 10ish hours is Borderlands GOTY and Oblivion GOTY. Everything else is pretty cheap too. On for the next 10ish days.

Damn you steam trying to take all my money, I just can't resist. The Witcher 2 is %33 off right now.

Portal 2 is also %33 off.

And wow, the Valve Pack, every Valve game from Counterstrike to Portal 2, 24 games for $50.

The 2K games pack for $80 is a steal as well.

(Witcher 2 is WAY too new for you!)

I don't think I'm gonna go for any of the packs this time, mainly on account of already having too many of the good games that are included in them.

i couldn't get more than 10 minutes into the first Witcher, with the terrible dialog, clunky controls, and annoying combat system. is the Witcher 2 that much better?

I haven't played it but it is supposed to be really good. But... I'm looking in steam right now and it doesn't appear to be on sale? Oh well.

Yeah, the uber-specials change every day. Typically though the last day brings back the most popular deals from the sale, so it might come back.

I hated the Witcher 1. Witcher 2 is the best RPG I've played in years because it's well done and also technically advanced.

Ugh of course steam decides to start rejecting my credit card in the middle of the summer sale. Works everywhere but steam.

Happened to me the first time I experienced a Steam sale too. File a support ticket, and they'll fix it for you.

Ok cool, thanks. Did that now.

Good to know it's happened to someone else before.

I was having a hard time justifying Portal 2 at $50, even with the reviews it got .... $34 was a no brainer.

will i know what the hell is going on in 2 without playing the first? that's the problem with franchise games that have good sequels but the originals suck

Don't think I've seen AC:Brotherhood anywhere close to $20 before.

Didn't get into DA:O, but I'm kind of tempted to get the Ultimate Edition at $10 just in case I give it another chance and to get into it.

Is War for Cybertron really as good as the War for Cybertron thread would have me believe?

I hated War for Cybertron but that's probably because I hate the voices and designs and music for that game. I thought it was a pretty ugly muddy looking Unreal Engine game with crappy metal textures...but a lot of that is probably due to me wanting an 80s Transformers game which this isn't.

I love DA:O. $10 is a no-brainer.

If you're gonna spend $34 for Portal 2, you might as well spend $50 for everything Valve has ever made, unless you already have all that.

Don't buy anything until the last day, unless it's a daily special, because it might be a daily special later.

Agreed. I'm hoping that Civ5 is a daily special for $20 or less so I don't have to buy the $80 2K pack. That pack is a crazy good deal, but I already have a bunch of the stuff in it, and don't need to spend $80 right now.

Today I bought Tropico 3 for $3.49, which is more the kind of price I like during Steam sales.
