New Car. Discount to MSRP? Used Car. Discount to Sticker?
I know there is the "I am a used car salesman, ask me anything" thread, but it is fairly long and can use anyone's opinions here.
So, question is. I am considering buying a new car.
-If audi dealer shows me the MSRP, how much can they move on this?
- Otherwise looking at barely used (< 25,000 km). How much can they move on their sticker price?

Go to carcostcanada.com and get the invoice price. Then offer 2.5% - 3.0% over invoice. (minus incentives and rebates)

depends on the model, a Q5, S4 or popular model will sell near list as demand is greater than supply, esecially with Audi's as production does not match the demand in Canada.
As for used it depends on what they took it in for, sometimes they can make 10, 000 on a used car, other times they get bent over and are asking close to what they paid just to move it.

So for used, what do you offer on their price?

10-15% less than asking. Unless you're a minority, than 50% less than ask is acceptable.

It depends on demand and vehicle inventory. 2.5% is typically the employee price, you may be able to get that, but again depends on the above two factors.

Exactly. I went to the USA to get my new Q5 because it was a 6-9 month wait here and there was zero bargaining room. They were/are asking MSRP + market adjustments (aka dealer markups) in some cases! Saved nearly $20K in the USA, if you know how to get a dealer to sell to you

I give you $10,000; otherwise, I can ship a mint one in from Volokamsk for less.
