Nope, no good places. You should probably just stay home.

I think you should go to Iceland. I bet it would be hella fun. It's foreign, it's close, and you likely only need no more than a week there.

I am partial to New Zealand, however. Go there as well.

If you want a serious response, go to Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. The Red Sea is amazing.

Croatia.
I've personally never been, but I've heard the Dalmatian coast is absolutely amazing.
Definitely on my list.

I've heard great things about Ireland. Especially Northern Ireland.

Unfortunately, I don't have any other suggestions. Good luck!

Just got back from there three weeks ago. Really cool place.

Not too self-promote too much, but here is a set of pics on flickr if you're interested.

Go where you want to go. A trip is a personal expeirience. Each person gets something differnt from the place. Could be amazing. Could be terrible. Its all personal and what you make it. Go to madagascar.

I looked at a globe once to see what is the opposite end of the earth from Calgary, and I think it is close to Madagascar.
