Cjay 92 finally being killed?
I was on the train and saw an ad for X Revolution (or something like that) 92.9 FM coming soon.
So Cjay is finally getting a format change? About time, how long has that dinosaur been on the airwaves?

It's been CJAY since it signed on in 1977, with virtually the same format. It's at 92.1, so if the new station is 92.9, it's not taking over from CJAY.
Also, most stations don't pre-promote a format change. They usually don't even inform their staff until the change is being made, those who are losing their jobs get escorted out of the building and the new format is started (preventing anyone from going nuts on the air).

92.9 is a new station in Calgary, which will have an alternative rock format. From my understanding the morning show will be hosted by a guy that used to be out of Rock106 from Lethbridge and a guy from Vancouver as well.

Isn't there already a station at 92.9? I seem to recall seeing it, because back in the days of using dials to tune in the radio, I would sometimes miss CJAY.

Haha, I think I still have my "Generation X" Pepsi shirt at the bottom of my closet, and that is easily ten years old.

Do you know who that guy from Rock106 is? I'm going to guess Doc Roberts, but I haven't listened to Rock106 in months so Fraser or Rosie could be gone for all I know (I wish).

Wicksie took an oil job. That's where the money is.
Here's the new site for the X

CCalgary's New Rock Alternative @ 92.9 has it's morning show! I'm very please to tell you that Fraser Tuff and Roger Kingkade are coming to CFEX. (Sorry, we don't have the Breakfast Bunch name figured out yet) Fraser has spent the past few years holding down the morning show in Lethbridge at Rock 106, while Roger has spent the past few years in Vancouver working at such stations as Xfm, The Fox, and most recently Rock 101.algary's New Rock Alternative @ 92.9 has it's morning show! Well whatever this station is, there's no way it could be any worse than CJAY 92. They are the worst rock radio station I've ever heard, anywhere, by far.

SUN FM Grande Prairie. Though, being one of two stations in that city, it tries to add everything but country in.
The Calgary area is actually getting five new radio stations firing up in the near future. Including CHUM's latest, "groundbreaking" station:

Great. Only problem is I only have those six buttons for preset. But more stations is good -- I find it impossible to listen to any of them for any length of time so having more stations to flick to is good. Is there a way to have more presets?

Well Energy 104.5 is just another C-Jay clone. Good to see someone else can play that other Nickelback song when the other one isn't playing it.

No doubt. Having travelled across Canada numerous times and into the States quite a bit I can attest that this is true. Forbes is so bad that he gives me ###### chills. Bush league jocks and programmers, not one bit of credibility or integrity.

I don't want to sound like a broken record, and I certainly do not own stock in Sirius or XM. But those of you who do not have a satellite radio seriously need to pick one up. It's like you're still watching those 3 fuzzy TV channels with your rabbit ears when 100 channels of cable are available.
Don't like the song that's playing? Choose between almost 100 other music channels with no commercials. Zero ads.
Hockey games, talk, news. I haven't heard a Nickleback song in a year now, it's great. Testicular radio does not compare.

Not even close. If you've ever heard Andy Stochansky, who they listed on their site, you'd realize that it won't be close. He's quite folksy actually.
