LMAO...I'm a day early!

I want this week to be over REALLY badly. It's been brutal!

Sincere thoughts though!

This probably explains why there are no UFA signings posted yet. I thought we were off to an awfully slow start!

The kind words are appreciated. I've actually decided to celebrate Canada Day today, as tomorrow is all about NHL Free Agency.

Yeah, but even if it was tomorrow, signings wouldn't start for more than an hour.

Your time machine sucks.

LOL, it happens. Change "Canadians" to "Sainters7" and it'd make more sense haha.

I've clocked over 200 hours in the last 3 weeks. I'm proud of myself for only being 26 hours off!

I have the afternoon off tomorrow, so it is straight from work with a couple of buddies to Trafalgar Square to watch Street Hockey, Inuit Throat Singing, Blue Rodeo and a load of talent while drinking ice cold Sleemans and waiting in line for at least an hour for some Timmy's donuts.

No roll up the rim.

I'm one of those people that completely and utterly falls in love with this country over and over again.

Canada is a nation that always punches above its weight militarily, economically and in its humanitarian issues.

From Vimy Ridge, to Juno Beach to the hills of Korea and the dusty plains of Afghanistan we've always come when the world has asked and sacrificed against the worst odds. When the our friends ask we're always willing to stand with them without question or hesitation, we're willing to lay down our lives not for conquest but because its the right thing to do.

When other nations suffer Canada is there, when the Hurricanes hit New Orleans we sent ships and doctors and food and medicine. When Haiti shook we were there, offering help and comfort.

We're a destination nation for the poor and downtrodden, who come to Canada to start over with a dream for a better life for themselves and their families.

From coast to coast there is no more diverse of a nation, and at the heart of us what makes us different is that we all for the most part get along and are willing to listen to those different views and enjoy those different cultures.

From coast to coast this is an incredibly beautiful country where you are mere hours from the prairies or mountains or oceans.

In sports we put the fear of god into the Russians, we invented the forward pass in football and basketball, Lacrosse is our national game, but we're known and respected for playing the most difficult game in the world with artistic grace and physical force.

When we're called for to work hard, nobody works harder, when its time to party we're legendary

We as Canadians are willing to fight for our nation, for the weak and for the ideals that define what Canada is.

We as Canadians are willing to accept anyone.

We as Canadian's have earned international admiration, we have also earned contempt and anguish from the various and brutal despots around the world, those who abuse woman and children don't want to hear the dusty boots of Canada.

This country is Canada, its people are Canadian's and throughout our 144 years of history we've been nothing less then great.

Happy Birthday Canada.

Good post CC. As much as we like to bitch about politics and stuff, it is still an amazing and great country to live in.

Unrelated to that though, I am kind of annoyed that the royals came over to preside over us on our day of celebrating our national independence. I was actually planning to go to Ottawa this weekend but bailed when I found out that it would be a royal circus.

Even though it is a piece by an American, I think this is a great video....The Brunt videos would fit well too.
