Not sure yet all the particulars, but sounds like Yaroslav Askarov is being traded from Nashville to San Jose

At least he's not traded to the Oilers for some cap dump

New Jersey would have been interesting to learn behind Marky:

Heard a lot of different possibilities over the last week — including Montreal and New Jersey — but it’s the Sharks that get him

I believe a goalie and at least one prospect are going to Nashville in this trade. Whispers suggest Goalie Magnus Chrona may be the goaltender.

Would be interesting to learn if this will cost an immediate first. Would think that would be a guarantee.
As for NJ, if the guy wants to play now I think it would be a poor fit. SJ gives him that chance.

That’s a great acquisition for the Sharks. Who knows if he develops, but it’s a hard position to fill and Askarov, especially considering his age, could be one heck of a fit.

Perfect landing spot for a guy who wants to eat some minutes and isnt going to push them over the hump any time soon.

I've liked most of the stuff the Sharks have done lately and I hate that that's the case.

Grier might be the worst GM in the league.

Edstrom, property of three teams already and just drafted over a year ago.

So Grier essentially turned Hertl into Askarov.
Not bad work at all..

Seems like a very high price to pay for a guy that requested a trade.
Isn't that Vegas 1st unprotected? If they miss the playoffs, Nashville did very well

100%. Tanking your team into the #1 overall pick and then turning 30 year old Hertl into the #1 goalie prospect in the league is terrible work.

Nashville gets a guy named Magnus Chrona. They win the trade.
